Production of Nike and Adidas sneakers will be launched at the SinoInternational LLC plant in the Asaka district of the Andijan region of Uzbekistan in the fourth quarter of 2021, Trend reports referring to Association of leather-shoe and fur-fur enterprises of Uzbekistan (Uzcharmsanoat Association).
According to the agreement between Tianjin Zhongzhilihua (Chinese manufacturer of sneakers under Nike and Adidas brands) and Uzbekistan’s SinoInternational LLC, signed in 2019, production of Nike and Adidas sneakers will be launched in Andijan region in three stages from 2020 to 2022.
It is reported that one hectare of land in the Asaka district of the Andijan region were allocated for the construction of SinoInternational LLC plant, where the equipment was delivered and installed. It is noted that the plant was launched in 4Q2020.
According to the Uzcharmsanoat Association, the plant has launched the production of 40,000 pairs of children's and teenage sneakers under a local brand per month in a test mode.
Uzcharmsanoat said that production of Nike and Adidas sneaker line will launch in 4Q2021 and will be fully operational in 3Q2022. The plant is expected to produce three million pairs of athletic shoes per year.
The plans to launch production of Nike and Adidas sneakers in Uzbekistan became known in early September 2020. Then the chairman of the Uzcharmsanoat association Fakhriddin Boboev said that the production of footwear is planned to be realized on the basis of outsourcing.
