Uzbekistan, Russia interested in simplifying customs regulation

Uzbekistan, Russia are interested in implementing promising mechanisms to simplify customs regulation to increase the volume and diversify the turnover, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan.

The mentioned issue was discussed during a meeting held between Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia Vladimir Tyurdenev, who is completing his diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan.

During the dialogue, it was emphasized that under the leadership of the heads of the two states, relations between the countries are consistently strengthening. In this context, the parties noted the great importance attached by strengthening and expanding trade, economic and investment ties.

Also, the parties outlined prospects were for the development of industrial cooperation, attracting Russian investments and advanced technologies in areas such as mechanical engineering, agriculture and healthcare.

Furthermore, the sides expressed interest in further cooperation in order to ensure sustainable growth in the volume of mutual trade between the two countries, in particular, the implementation of practical measures aimed at ensuring unhindered cargo transportation through the territories of the two states, as well as promising mechanisms to simplify customs regulation to increase the volume and diversify trade.
