Some 415,600 tons of metal products were shipped by Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works company (MMK) to Uzbek companies, which amounted to 82 percent of the total sales to the Central Asian states and 35 percent of the supplies to the CIS countries, Trend reports citing MMK.

MMK representatives held meetings with a number of its largest clients at the industrial exhibition in Tashkent (Uzbekistan), including Tashkent Pipe Plant LLC (TPP), the first manufacturer of steel pipes in Uzbekistan.

It was noted that MMK’s main supplies for TPP is hot-rolled steel - the total volume of shipments by MMK to TPP in 2020 amounted to 66,200 tons.

Also, MMK actively cooperates with companies representing the automotive industry of Uzbekistan. During the exhibition in Tashkent, the delegation of MMK held meetings with manufacturers of vehicles and their components, in particular, with UzAuto Motors, as well as its subsidiaries and contractors.

In total, in 2020, MMK supplied more than 38,000 tons of metal products to the enterprises of the Uzbek automobile industry.

Another large client of MMK in Uzbekistan is the ARTEL Group of Companies, one of the key manufacturers of household appliances and electronics in Central Asia. In 2020, the AKFA ARTEL holding company, which owns the company, purchased 19,200 tons of products from MMK, primarily cold-rolled and galvanized steel.

In addition, MMK is closely cooperating with the Tashkent Metallurgical Plant, which was launched in December 2020 (with a design capacity of 500,000 tons of galvanized and painted steel per year) and is the main supplier of hot-rolled coils for this enterprise.
