Uzbekistan to export various types of legumes to Iran

Uzbekistan and Iran signed an agreement on the supply to Iran of 500 tons of beans produced in Uzbekistan, the total cost of which amounts to $565,000, Trend reports with reference to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Iran.

The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Iran organized a video conference between the director of the Uzbek Sirdarya Beans Export company Zafar Turaev and the director of Iranian Ghaza Faravar Penguin company Mohammed Zaman in order to further expand the export potential of Uzbekistan and diversify its composition within the framework of ensuring the implementation of the decree of the president of Uzbekistan on measures to further support export activities.

The Iranian businessman noted that the legumes of Uzbekistan fully comply with high-quality requirements and international standards, and therefore Ghaza Faravar Penguin ready to purchase these products in large volumes.

At the same time, the Iranian businessman emphasized that the use of a preferential customs duty on the import of legumes from abroad opens up wide opportunities for Uzbekistan to increase the volume of exports of this type of product to Iran in the future.

According to the agreement reached during an online meeting and direct negotiations between the parties, an agreement was signed between the two companies on the supply to Iran of 500 tons of beans produced in Uzbekistan, the total cost of which amounts to $565,000.

Also, the export manager of the Iranian Behnom Sharifi visited Uzbekistan and held negotiations on establishing the export of legumes to Iran in order to get acquainted with the activities of Sirdarya Beans Export company, as well as with the capabilities and capacities of the plant for processing legumes located in the Syrdarya region.

It is reported that the first batch of beans in the amount of 50 tons was exported to Iran within the framework of the initial phase of the agreement.

At the same time, the parties reached preliminary agreements on the export deliveries of mung bean and other varieties of beans from Uzbekistan to Iran in the future.

Ghaza Faravar Penguin is a structural subdivision of Mihan Group holding, which is one of the largest manufacturers of food and dairy products in Iran and specializes in the preparation of various types of canned products.
