Uzbek commodity exchange reveals number of transactions for 3M2021

Transactions worth 25 trillion soums ($2.4 billion) were concluded from January through April 2021 at the Uzbek Republican Commodity Exchange (UZEX), which is 56 percent more than in the same period last year, Trend reports citing UZEX.

According to UZEX, 88.4 percent of the concluded transactions fell on exchange trading, and the rest - on the share of e-commerce, including exhibition and fair trade, electronic government procurement, online auctions for the sale of license plates and mobile numbers.

In April of this year, in accordance with the Decree of the President of Uzbekistan on measures for the further introduction of market mechanisms in the sale of highly liquid and monopoly goods, work was carried out to attract new types of products to open exchange trading.

In particular, the main buyers of consumer and technical ethyl alcohol are registered on the exchange, including 48 manufacturers of alcoholic beverages, 99 pharmaceutical companies and 305 other specialized enterprises for the processing of ethyl alcohol.

In addition, Andijan biokimyo, Yangiyul biokimyo, Kokandspirt, Bektemir-alcohol enterprises have opened standard exchange contracts for alcohol on the exchange. At the same time, Yangiyul biokimyo JSC has already sold the first batch of products - 600 decaliter of consumer alcohol at 160,000 soums ($15.22) per decaliter.

Also, in April this year Navoiazot JSC sold 4,539 tons of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) at an average of 16.2 million soums ($1,540) per ton and 147 tons of formalin at an average of 2.9 million soums ($275) per ton.

At the same time, over the past month 220 kilograms of silver were sold through exchange trading. As a result of the past exchange trading, the average price of silver amounted to 8,700 soums per gram ($0.83).
