Uzbek mining and metallurgical complex exceeds export plan by half

The Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex (Almalyk MMC) in April 2021 exported products worth $113.6 million, exceeding the forecast figure by 57.4 percent, Trend reports referring to the press service of Almalyk MMC.

It is reported that the complex from January through April 2021 exported products in the amount of $344.5 million (forecast - 60.8 percent), increasing the export volume by 54.6 percent.

According to the data provided by the Metallurgical Raw Materials Sales and Supply Department of the Almalyk MMC, 8,948 tons of copper products were exported in April this year. Also, some 31,455 tons of copper products were exported in 4M2021 (an increase of three percent).

Also, over the past month, 7,180 tons of cathode copper were supplied to foreign consumers. The forecast was exceeded 2.6 percent, 1,366 tons of copper rod (forecast - 41.5 percent), 403 tons of copper pipes (forecast - 34.3 percent).

It was noted that the main export markets for Uzbek copper are Turkey, China, the CIS countries, and Eastern Europe. At the same time, work is constantly underway to develop new sales markets. Thus, Almalyk MMC has already established deliveries of products to Qatar, Australia, Indonesia, Poland. The delivery of products to the UAE and Southern Europe is being prepared.

According to the information, fulfillment of the forecast indicator for the production of sulfuric acid amounted to 22.9 percent - 8,395 tons of this product were exported. The volume of exported lead concentrate amounted to 8,360 tons with the growth rate reaching 57 percent.

In addition, 6,989 tons of metal zinc were exported by the MMC, exceeding the plan by 39.8 percent.

It is reported that the main foreign consumers of the products manufactured by the plant are the Netherlands, Turkey, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Bulgaria, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, Poland, Tajikistan, Indonesia, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, China.
