Uzbekistan’s 1H2021 export of tomatoes down

The volume of tomatoes exported from Uzbekistan from January through June 2021 decreased by 7,000 tons compared to the same period in 2020, Trend reports referring to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

According to the Committee, Uzbekistan during the reporting period exported 69,000 tons of tomatoes in the amount of $50.2 million.

It is reported that the main exporter of Uzbek tomatoes was Russia, which in 6M2021 imported 36,200 tons of tomatoes. The second place is taken by Kazakhstan with imports amounting to 19,700 tons.

At the same time, Kyrgyzstan imported 11,000 tons of Uzbek tomatoes, Tajikistan – 1,900 tons, Belarus - 53.6 tons, the US - 20.9 tons, Afghanistan - 12 tons, Ukraine - 9.1 tons, the UAE - 7.7 tons and Germany - 0.5 tons.

Earlier it was reported that the volume of fruit exported by Uzbekistan from January through June 2021 in physical terms amounted to 132,200 tons.

Also, during the reporting period, Uzbekistan exported 520,600 tons of vegetables. At the same time, the volume of pepper exported in 6M2021 accounted for 8,100 tons, fresh grapes – 2,300 tons, dried grapes – 18,000 tons, peanuts – 10,400 tons.
