Uzbekistan’s Enter Engineering to reconstruct memorial complex in Samarkand region

Enter Engineering company, one of the largest EPC contractors in Uzbekistan, has announced a project for the reconstruction of historical memorial complex of Imam al-Bukhari in Samarkand region, Trend reports referring to the press service of Enter Engineering.

At the initiative of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Enter Engineering began dismantling work in February 2021, and in April 2021, reconstruction of the historical buildings keeping the original architectural design and creation of the new cultural center began.

It is reported that the construction is expected to be completed in 2022.

The total area of ​​reconstruction and construction amounts to 4.68 hectares, the building area - 2.02 hectares, including an underground gallery of 0.35 hectares and a courtyard of 0.83 hectares. The coverage area around the buildings and green spaces amounts to 1.72 and 0.44 hectares, respectively.

Currently, more than 440 specialists are involved, including 65 foreign builders, as well as 53 units of special equipment and three tower cranes.

It is reported that the project includes the construction of a mosque with four high minarets around the perimeter and other areas, which will provide the total of 25,000 prayer places (7,000 space main praying hall, 3,000 space praying hall for women and a 15,000 capacity courtyard), as well as an administrative building, premises for ritual ablution.

It was noted that the historical water source and plane trees, which have been growing for several hundred years, will also be preserved. Enter Engineering has ensured the accessibility of this place for people with disabilities by installing modern elevators to facilitate movement between floors.
