Uzbekistan notes increase in meat production for 1H2021

In six months of 2021, 119,000 tons of meat were produced in Uzbekistan, which is 4.4 percent more than during the same reporting period in 2020, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

It is reported that the largest volume of meat production among the categories of farms was noted in dekhkan (personal subsidiary) farms, amounting to r 92.5 percent of the total production.

During this period, compared to 2020, there was an increase in farms by 3.8 percent, dehkan (personal subsidiary) farms - by 4.3 percent, organizations engaged in agricultural activities - by 10.3 percent.

The largest share in the total volume of meat production fell in the Tashkent region (12.3 percent). At the same time, the lowest share was observed in the Syrdarya region (2.8 percent).

Earlier it was reported that the seasonal decline in prices for fruits and vegetables and dairy products, as well as for eggs, significantly affected the short-term CPI for July 2021. Fruits and nuts became cheaper over the month by seven percent, vegetables, tubers, plantains and legumes - by 4.2 percent, dairy products and eggs - by 0.6 percent. The most significant rise in prices was for meat products (1.2 percent).
