Uzbekistan to sell state assets to private companies in 2022

The authorities of Uzbekistan intend to sell 32 large state assets to private companies next year, Trend reports via the press services of the president.

A total of 368 non-core and ineffective assets of state-owned enterprises will also be put up for sale. The authorities will sell 770 assets in the regions of Uzbekistan.

It is expected that due to privatization, the budget of Uzbekistan will receive about 10 trillion soums ($935.8 million).

The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev discussed this issue at a meeting on the privatization of state facilities.

In total, in 2021-2022, it is planned to reduce the number of enterprises with a state share by least three times.

Uzbekistan has already sold 619 state assets worth 4.5 trillion soums ($421.1 million), since the beginning of 2021.
