Uzbekistan reveals volume of loans issued by private banks for 5M2022

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 7. The volume of all loans issued by private banks of Uzbekistan from January through May 2022 increased by 46.2 percent compared to the same period last year, Trend reports citing the Uzbek Central Bank.

This figure in the corresponding period amounted to 53 trillion soums ($4.9 billion), and from January through May 2021 amounted to 36.3 trillion soums ($3.3 billion).

The volume of loans of the banks with a state share from January through May 2022 amounted to 292.1 trillion soums ($26.8 billion), which is an increase of 11.7 percent compared to the same period of 2021 (261.5 trillion soums or $23.9 billion).

From January through May 2022, the volume of loans of the banks with a state share in Uzbekistan exceeded the volume of loans of private banks by 5.5 times, which amounted to 239 trillion soums ($21.9 billion).

The total volume of all loans issued by banks of Uzbekistan amounted to 345.2 trillion soums ($31.7 billion) from January through May 2022.
