BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 29. Uzbekistan’s Uzsuvtaminot JSC with the participation of the Asian Development Bank is implementing construction and reconstruction of water supply and sanitation systems in 7 cities and districts of the Tashkent region,Trend reports via the JSC.
The project is scheduled to be fully completed in 2025.
Currently, within the project, Uzsuvtaminot signed contract worth $22.2 million with Turkish Alkataş İnşaat ve Taahhüt JV and Uzbek Mesmer-East LLC for the reconstruction of a sewage treatment plant in Chirchik city.
At the moment, the installed capacity of this facility is 80,000 cubic meters per day. It is expected that after the reconstruction this figure will increase to 130,000 cubic meters per day.
It is also planned to build 12.8 kilometers of new and reconstruct 16 kilometers of existing sewer networks within the framework of the project.
