BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 30. The volume of non-performing loans (NPL) issued by Uzbek banks from January through July, 2022 decreased by 10.4 percent compared to the same period last year, Trend reports citing the Central Bank of Uzbekistan.

This figure amounted to 16.9 trillion soums ($1.5 billion) from January through July, 2022, which is 4.9 percent of the total volume of all issued loans.

The volume of NPL from January through July, 2021 amounted to 18.9 trillion soums ($1.7 billion).

From January through July, 2022, the NPL of state-owned banks of Uzbekistan accounted for 14.5 trillion soums ($1.3 billion), while private banks’ NPL accounted for 2.4 trillion soums ($217 million).
