TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, December 9. Uzbekistan's Saneg oil and gas company, uniting Sanoat Energetika Guruhi and Fergana Oil Refinery Plant (FNPZ), is working actively with the EBRD to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, Deputy Executive Director for Field Development of the company's Production Division Azizbek Nazarov told Trend on December 9.

"We're currently engaged in the associated gas utilization," said Nazarov. "A lot of greenhouse gas emissions come directly from technological procedures. Previously, the country had up to 10 percent of emissions. Today, 250,000 tons of greenhouse gases are already being utilized".

According to him, Saneg eyes acquiring green certificates for recovered gases in 2023.

"We make every effort to reduce emissions and minimize the impact on the environment while extracting and transporting oil and gas," Nazarov emphasized.
