BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 29. Uzbekistan has opened the first part of a new international trade center in Termez (a border city between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan), Trend reports citing the official Telegram channel of Russian Trade Representation in Uzbekistan.

According to the message, the full opening of the center is planned for the first quarter of 2023.

Over $75 million were invested in the project, while the annual turnover of the complex is expected to be $500 million, and the volume of services rendered in it - is $10 million.

The Trade Representation of Russia in Uzbekistan says that 1,800 retail outlets will be available at the center, as well as a 300-bed hotel. The complex of Termez’s International Trade Center will include a production and logistics zone, a medical center, as well as a restaurant.

Furthermore, foreign citizens and legal entities will be able to purchase or rent retail space in the center.

As for Afghanistan, the opening of the center will increase trade with Uzbekistan to $1.2 billion.

At the same time, Afghan citizens will be able to stay in the complex for business purposes without a visa for up to 10 days.
