BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 27. Uzbekistan and Germany have increased the bilateral trade turnover by more than 1.7 times from January through March 2023, compared to the same period of 2022, from $384.2 million up to $674.2 million, Trend reports via Uzbekistan’s State Statistics Committee.
Uzbekistan’s imports from Germany amounted to $654.6 million, which is an increase of more than 1.7 times, compared to the figure for the first three months of 2022 ($363.8 million).
At the same time, the exports from Uzbekistan to Germany decreased by 3.4 percent and amounted to $19.7 million over $20.4 million from January through March 2022.
In 2022, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Germany amounted to $1.1 billion, increasing by 51.4 percent, compared to the figure for 2021 ($765.7 million).
Meanwhile, from January through March 2023, Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover as a whole exceeded $14.7 billion – an increase of 11.3 percent or $1.5 billion, compared to the same period last year.
