TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, November 28. Uzbekistan is setting up a new solar photovoltaic plant at Talimarjan Thermal Power Plant JSC in Uzbekistan’s Kashkadarya region, Trend reports.

According to data released by Uzbekistan's Ministry of Energy, the plant's total capacity will be 790 kW at the end of the construction process.

The new solar facility will generate 1.2 million kWh of electricity per year and save 125.6 thousand cubic meters of natural gas once it is operational.

Furthermore, the photovoltaic plant's inverters will work on the 'On Grid' system, ensuring seamless connection with the existing power grid infrastructure.

Uzbekistan has established goals for renewable energy production, seeking to expand its contribution of this area in the energy balance to 25 percent by 2026. This means adding 15 GW of new renewable energy capacity.

Furthermore, according to government projections, the newly deployed renewable energy capacity in Uzbekistan will reach 2 GW by the end of 2023.
