TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, December 16. The Russian FESCO logistics company will help Uzbekistan in the development of its logistics routes, Trend reports.

The announcement came after a meeting between officials of the FESCO transportation firm and the management of Uzbekistan Railways and Uztemiryul Container.

During the discussion, the companies discussed the specifics of working together to develop Uzbekistan's container transportation services.

According to data provided by Russia's commercial mission in Uzbekistan, Uzbek enterprises are presently investigating the use of FESCO's intermodal services to develop transit routes, picturing links through Kyrgyzstan to China and through Turkmenistan to Turkey, Africa, and the Mediterranean.

Meanwhile, since September 2022, FESCO has launched a new service for transporting goods from Japan through China and Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan.

In total, the company transported 8,500 twenty-foot equivalent units to Uzbekistan in nine months—almost the same amount as in 2021.

In October last year, FESCO established Fesco Turan, a subsidiary in Uzbekistan, which is developing container transportation by rail to Uzbekistan from Europe and South Asia.

The company carries out 35 percent of all container transportation to Uzbekistan.

Since the beginning of 2023, the local FESCO Tashkent Shuttle service has delivered more than 7,500 sea containers from Vladivostok to Tashkent.
