TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, December 18. Uzbekistan will allocate $500 million to the development of tourism in its Kashkadarya region, Trend reports.

As per data from Uzbekistan’s National Database of Legislation, the reform is planned to attract 4.5 million tourists to the region.

In addition, it is planned to allocate $50 million from the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan for the development of tourism in the region.

Meanwhile, in early December 2023, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree on the construction of hotels and sanatoriums in the mountainous regions of the Kashkadarya region.

Following a working visit by Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the city of Karshi in the country’s Kashkadarya region, it was announced that Uzbekistan will resume operations at the regional Shakhrisabz Airport starting January 1, 2024.

The local flights to Uzbekistan’s regions of Samarkand, Bukhara, Ferghana, and Khorezm will be operated on the ATR aircraft.

As a result, it is expected that the cost of air tickets will decrease by two times and the flow of foreign and domestic tourists will increase threefold.
