TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, December 29. The contract between Gazprom and Uzbekistan will be concluded at the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum in the middle of 2024, Chairman of Russian Gazprom Alexei Miller said, Trend reports.

The remark was made during the Gazprom briefing on the preliminary results of 2023.

“In 2024, Gazprom will sign a 15-year contract with Uzbekistan. We will also sign medium-term 15-year contracts with our partners in Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan during the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum in the middle of next year," he said.

To increase gas supplies to Uzbekistan, the Russian state-owned company plans to expand the Central Asia-Center gas pipeline system.

Meanwhile, the Presidents of Uzbekistan, Russia, and Kazakhstan launched Russian gas supplies to Uzbekistan on October 7 of 2023. The gas supply agreement is designed for two years and provides for the supply of 2.8 billion cubic meters of gas per year. Transit is carried out via the Central Asia-Center gas pipeline.

Moreover, Uzbekistan and Gazprom signed a Memorandum on Cooperation in the Energy Sector earlier this month to develop cooperation in the field of gas supplies and transportation, as well as in the field of exploration and production of hydrocarbons.
