TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, February 20. Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan will build Central Asia industrial complex, Trend reports.

The industrial complex will be located on an area of almost 100 hectares on the border of Turkestan (Kazakhstan) and Syrdarya (Uzbekistan) regions.

According to the Syrdarya region's administration, the project involves the construction of a closed complex, which will create favorable conditions for production and wholesale trade.

The start of construction is scheduled for August this year. It is planned to fully put the facility into operation and commercial use by 2030.

The project will serve to increase the GDP of Turkestan and Syrdarya regions, turning the border regions of both countries into a major logistics center. Also, it will allow to achieve the growth of mutual trade turnover by 2.5 times up to $10 billion.

Meanwhile, Kazakhstan has started construction of the Darbaza-Maktaraal railway line with subsequent access to the border with Uzbekistan.

The Darbaza-Maktaraal railroad line will contribute to increasing the volume of cargo transportation between the two countries.
