TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, March 18. Uzbekistan's tax revenues from enterprises in the sphere of trade amounted to 20.3 trillion soums ($1.6 billion) in 2023, Trend reports.
The Tax Committee of Uzbekistan reports that 151,300 legal
entities are registered in the field. With a combined revenue of
42.9 trillion soums ($3.4 billion), the top 20 enterprises among
them contributed 1.8 trillion soums ($143.1 million) in taxes to
the government.
Anglesey Food LLC was the biggest taxpayer in the area. With a
turnover of 7.96 trillion soums, or $633 million, (up 76.5 percent
year over year), the owner of the Korzinka supermarket chain paid
208.8 billion soums ($16.6 million) in taxes (up 32.8 percent
year-on-year) and used 72.6 billion soums, or $5.7 million (less by
53.4 percent year-on-year), in benefits.
Second place was taken by Intermax Petroleum, an oil products manufacturer, with 122.9 billion soums ($9.7 million) of deductions at a turnover of 1.8 trillion soums ($143.1 million). Next came Tashkent Tobacco Distribution (119 billion soums, or $9.4 million), Nestle Food (110.4 billion soums, or $8.7 million), and Tashkent Trade Center (108 billion soums, or $8.5 million).
The tax authorities provided benefits to trade companies in the amount of 10.05 trillion soums ($799.2 million). Seven of the top 20 taxpayers (Humo Infinity, Trade Group Ltd., Alif Moliya, Unitrade Co., BYD Uzbekistan Factory, Alpha Metal, and Osiyo Trade Biznes) had no advantages, while the top 20 taxpayers accounted for 759 billion soums ($60.3 million) in deductions, or 7.6 percent of their total amount.
Meanwhile, a total of 56 foreign companies specializing in e-services paid about 70 billion soums ($5.6 million) to Uzbekistan in 2023.
The largest foreign taxpayer was Meta Corporation, which owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. It contributed over 26 billion soums ($2.1 million) to the budget of the country.
