Member of Iran's opposition party demands head of judiciary to remove seal from party headquarters

Representative of the Iranian Parliament and member of the Central Council of the Iranian opposition party Etimad Milli (National Trust), Majid Nasirpur sent a letter to the Head of Judiciary Ayatollah Sadig Larijani, demanding to remove the seal from the party headquarters, the Iranian İLNA news agency reported.

The Iranian ex-presidential candidate, General Secretary of the Etimad Milli Party Mehdi Karroubi sent letters of protest concerning the election's results not on behalf of the party, but on its own behalf, Nasirpura wrote.

In September Tehran Prosecutor's Office sealed Karrubi's office and central headquarters of the party. Given the tense situation after the elections, the party's central council did not make anything against the decision in that period. But after the normalization of the situation the party has asked to remove the seal from its headquarters.

Karrubi was one of the major opponents of Iranian President Ahmadinejad, who won during the presidential elections dated June 12.

According to the official results of presidential elections, the current Iranian president won 62.63 percent of the votes. His main rival Mir Hussein Musavi gained 33.75 percent and former commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Mohsun Rezai - more than two percent of the vote.
