The lawfulness of dismissal of the Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki from his post will be considered at a meeting of Iran's Parliamentary Committee on National Security and Foreign Policy.
"I consider Mottaki's dismissal in a similar form - at the time of his stay on an official visit in Senegal as wrong," FARS news agency quotes the Iranian Parliamentary National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Deputy Chairman Ismail Kovsari, as reporting.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad signed a decree to dismiss Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki Dec.13, who was at that time in Senegal. Head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi was appointed the acting Foreign Minister of Iran.
Ahmadinejad thanked Mottaki for executing his official duties. Mottaki has served as foreign minister for seven years. He was appointed to this post during Ahmadinejad's first term.
