At the closed meeting today in the Iranian parliament, question of sanctions imposed on the country was discussed, Iranian parliament's staff chief's spokesman Mohseh Kukhan said, Fars news reported.

Kuhkan added, that Minister of Economy and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran were present at the meeting as well.

"The Minister of Economy spoke about the sanctions, and said that the parliament is ready to cooperate with the government in this issue," Kukhan said.

He added, that a special working committe has been created to work on the imposed sanctions.

Threat to impose additional sanctions against Tehran began to appear after a report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on Iran's nuclear program, which stated that Iran has worked over developing nuclear weapons, and such activities may still continue.

The United States and several Western countries suspect Iran of developing nuclear weapons under the coverage of peaceful nuclear energy program. Tehran denies the charges, saying its nuclear program is aimed at meeting the country's electricity needs.
