Azerbaijan, Baku, March 15/ Trend M. Moezzi
Securing energy needs for the world is among Iran's diplomatic priorities, the Foreign Ministry said.
FM official Ramin Mehmanparast told the Shana news agency that meeting the world's energy demands in the mid- and long-term is of high importance.
In today's world, economic development is intertwined with secured energy sources, he said, adding that many countries around the world see their national interest endangered under political pressures of the West against the Islamic Republic.
The EU formally imposed an oil embargo on Iran and agreed to a freeze on the assets of the Central Bank of Iran on January 23, but existing contracts will be honored until July 1.
