Iran’s Social Security Organization to sell loss-making subsidiaries

The Social Security Organization of Iran plans to sell its loss-making subsidiaries and invest the produced money in profitable fields, the organization's managing director said.

Saeid Mortazavi told journalists on Tuesday that the organization has around 280 subsidiaries, which are active in different fields of pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals and other industries. "We plan to sell loss-making companies and invest the money in profitable fields, such as methanol production units," he added.

The Social Security Organization intends to invest in such projects around the world, Mortazavi said.

Former Tehran prosecutor general Saeid Mortazavi has been recently appointed as the managing director of the Social Security Organization.
