Two Russian nationals that were detained in Tehran on April 5, were released yesterday, however their condition is unsatisfactory, Russian Foreign Ministry said, RIA Novosti reported.

According to earlier reports, a group of employees of the Iranian company Zarkuh were arrested in Tehran, among them the two Russians.

The report did not elaborate on the detention of the members of the company active in gold mines exploration.

The website of the company says the company which was established in 2005 was a leading exploration and mining company in Iran.

Russian Foreign Ministry noted that Russian nationals A.S. Kaisin and A.P. Romanenko were set free on "April 15, due to intensive work of Russian embassy in Iran".

"As of now, both men are in one of Tehran's hotels, and their physical condition is unsatisfactory. We will ensure they will get medical attention as soon as possible," says the statement of the ministry.

According to the report, Russian Foreign Ministry expects explanations from the Iranian side regarding the capture of the Russian nationals.

The report also notes that the captured Russian nationals were not accused of anything, and the reasons for their detention were not explained.
