The first jacket of the South Pars gas field phase 14 will be installed tomorrow, the ISNA News Agency reported.
Four jackets have been manufactured by Iran Shipbuilding and Offshore Industries Company (ISOICO) and will be installed at 15-day intervals, the report added.
The phase 14 of the South Pars gas field is projected to be developed at a cost of $570 million. Some $102 million has been spent to manufacture the jackets.
The South Pars gas field is shared by Iran and Qatar. The Iranian share, which is divided into 29 phases, has about 14 trillion cubic meters of gas, or about eight per cent of the total world reserves and more than 18 billion barrels of liquefied natural gas resources.
