The second 2,000-ton jacket platform at the South Pars gas field Phase 19 will be installed by mid-August, the phase's project manager said. Hamidreza Masoudi told the IRNA News Agency that four platforms will be commissioned at the phase 19, aiming to produce 56.5 million cubic
meters of natural gas per day.
The main goal of the gas field phase 19 development is a daily production of 50 million cubic meters of natural gas, 77,000 barrels of gas condensate and 400 tons of sulfur.
The phase will also yield 1.1 million tons of liquid gas and one million tons of ethane gas per year which will be used as feedstock by petrochemical industries.
The South Pars gas field is shared by Iran and Qatar. The Iranian share, which is divided into 29 phases, has about 14 trillion cubic meters of gas, or about eight percent of the total world reserves, and more than 18 billion barrels of liquefied natural gas resources.
