Today, roughly 300,000 people suffer from diabetes in Iran, but the figure is expected to reach 2-3 million, the İRNA news agency has quoted Chief of Iran's Health Ministry's Diabetes Department Mohammed Alevinia as saying on Wednesday.
According to Alevinia, number of diabetic patients is growing in Iran, as in other countries.
The older generation primarily suffers from diabetes, he said, adding that this is due to unhealthy lifestyle.
