Envoy urges Turkish media not to make problem in Tehran-Ankara ties

Iran's Ambassador to Turkey Alireza Bigdeli urged Turkish media to refrain from publishing articles which may cause problems in Tehran-Ankara ties, IRNA reported.

The ambassador made the remarks in Turkish News website 'Today's Zaman' while reacting to assertions that Iranian forces are present in Syria.

According to the website, Bigdeli asked Turkish media 'to consider all aspects of the issue, while covering news on Syria'.

Certain Turkish media have recently published news claiming that Iranian and Lebanese Hezbollah forces are present in Syria.

Deputy Foreign Minister in Asia and Pacific Affairs and Spokesman of the Ministry Seyed Abbas Araqchi, who was in Ankara, denied the claim and called it a conspiracy by anti-Syria forces.

Araqchi, who arrived in Ankara on Thursday at the invitation of his Turkish counterpart, told IRNA that Iranian forces have never been in Syria.
