Former presidential candidate Velayati meets with Iran’s president-elect

Former presidential candidate Ali Akbar Velayati congratulated Iran's president-elect Hassan Rohani on Tuesday.
The two held a meeting on Tuesday, the IRNA News Agency reported.
During the meeting, Velayati said that the next administration's progress is not possible without the people's participation.
He also praised the Iranian nation for their high turnout in the election.
Velyati refused to comment on a question regarding the possibility of taking Saeed Jalili's position as Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council.
Reformist candidate Hassan Rohani on Saturday was officially elected as Iran's next president with 50.7 per cent of the votes.
Ali Akbar Velayati ranked fifth in the race.
