(IRNA) - Visiting Zimbabwean Minister of Energy and Power Development Michael Nyambuya conferred here Tuesday with Iran's Oil Minister Kazem Vaziri-Hamaneh on expansion of mutual cooperation in energy sector, reports Trend.
According to the Public Relations Department of Ministry of Oil, at the meeting, the Iranian minister offered a number of proposals to meet Zimbabwe's needs for fuel and oil derivatives which were welcomed by the Zimbabwean minister.
The two sides officials agreed to appoint a group of Iranian specialists to conduct feasibility studies on the current status of imbabwe's oil refineries to help renovate and overhaul their facilities and installations.
In case, the Islamic Republic of Iran helps reconstruct Zimbabwe's oil refineries, Iran's crude oil will be exported to Zimbabwe to meet the country's needs in this regard, he said.
The two sides also agreed that Iran's crude oil would be converted into oil derivatives in foreign countries and the products would be sold to Zimbabwe.
The two sides also agreed to ink a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on mutual cooperation, said the report.
The two ministers expressed satisfaction with continued talks and cooperation between the two countries and underlined the need to further broaden cooperation in energy sector.
