(IRNA) - Exports of Iranian natural gas to Turkey is underway as scheduled despite that fact the country (Iran) has been hit by waves of cold weather, said an official on Wednesday.
Managing-Director of Iran's National Gas Company, Reza Kasaeizadeh, told IRNA that Iran is sending some 23 million cubic meters of its natural gas to Turkey on a daily basis, despite remarkable fall in temperature in most western and northwestern provinces.
Assuring that supplying natural gas for domestic uses inside Iran was going on normally, Kasaeizadeh stressed that people should, in return, try to use this clean energy "as much economically as possible."
As for an agreement with the Republic of Azerbaijan for export of Iranian natural gas to that country, Kasaeizadeh said preliminary talks have been held between the two countries during which the two expressed their desire to start next rounds of talks, reports Trend.
According to basic agreements, said the official, export of Iran's natural gas to Azerbaijan would take place on a swap basis based on which Iran would export its natural gas to Azerbaijan and import various oil products in return.
