Iranian contractors are implementing repair projects at some power plants of Iraq and Turkey.
Fariborz Teymuri, an official with Iran's Power Generation Transmission & Distribution Management Company (TAVANIR), said on Nov. 13 that domestic experts are currently implementing all repair and overhaul projects at Iranian plants, Mehr News Agency reported on Nov. 23.
"Iran can currently build about 120 essential equipment of the power industry domestically," he said.
"Building the items domestically reduces the repair costs by 60-70 percent.
Iran seeks to become a major regional exporter of electricity and has attracted more than $1.1 billion in investments for the construction of three new power plants.
Iran currently trades power with Turkey, Armenia, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Syria, and Iraq.
