While Iran's absolutely unemployed population stands at 2.7 million, the unemployed population is expecting 2.1 newcomers to join soon.

This is while 1.6 million have also lost their hope for finding a job, Mehr news agency reported June 15.

The Statistics Center of Iran, a governmental institute, recently announced that 2.1 million Iranians had only partial jobs during last Iranian fiscal year (which ended March 19).

Among them are those with less than 24 hours of work per week. The Iranian law considers as employed one who finds a job for an hour a week.

However, the Parliament's Research Center has recently published a report based on its own criteria, announcing that the unemployed population was 6.5 million. This included the partially employed population in the government's statistics.

Some 2.7 million accounted for absolute jobless people and that 4.9 million had only partial jobs.
