Baku, Azerbaijan, June 22

By Fatih Karimov – Trend:

The output of the first phase of Yadavaran oil field has reached 95,000 barrels per day, Hadi Nazarpour, the manager of the field’s development project, said.

Over 75,000 barrels of the extracted crude is light oil, Nazarpour said, the oil ministry’s SHANA news agency reported June 22.

He further said the current output at the Yadavaran oil field is 10,000 barrels more than the aimed figure, which was 85,000 barrels of oil per day in the first phase.

Nazarpour also said talks are underway with Chinese contractors over the development of the oil field’s second phase.

He added that at least 105 wells should be drilled in the second development phase of Yadavaran.

“Once the second phase of the field is completed, 180,000 barrels of oil will be produced,” he said.

Iran’s Yadavaran field yielded 16.5 million barrels of oil over the last Iranian fiscal year that ended March 19.

The Yadavaran oil field is shared between Iran and Iraq. The field’s in-situ reserve is estimated at 31 billion barrels of oil.

In a third phase, the field is expected to reach 300,000 b/d of production capacity.
