France is studying a plan to issue direct loans for investment in Iran, French Minister of Economy, Finance and Industry Michel Sapin said in a joint press conference with his Iranian counterpart Ali Tayyebnia.
“We are trying to help companies that are interested in investing in Iran and they will be able to ask for loans,” Sapin said, ISNA news agency reported March 5.
French companies were among the international businesses that could not work with an Iranian partner due to economic sanctions that lasted until 2016.
The sanctions, however, were lifted after Iran reached a landmark nuclear deal with world powers.
