Minister: 26 power plants to appear in Iran

Next summer, 8,000 megawatts of energy shortage is forecast in Iran, Iranian Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian told reporters in Qom, Iran.

Investments and construction of 26 new power plants will ensure 5,000 megawatts of energy, he said.

The Iranian minister said 13 projects in the power industry will be commissioned in Qom.

A total of about $10 million was spent on these projects, and approximately the same amount is envisaged for projects under implementation, he noted.
