The Mobile Telecommunication Company of Iran (MCI) to support innovative and knowledge-based companies, said Managing director of MCI Hamid Behrouzi, Trend reports via IRNA.
"The MCI would support knowledge-based companies by issuing calls for investment, these companies are encouraged to support operators as well to facilitate production," said Behrouzi.
"The country's two main mobile operators are paying special attention to research. Our investment in research and academic studies by focus on new technologies could lead to offering grants," he said during the 29th Iranian Conference on Electrical Engineering.
"The MCI is determined to support the domestic production and is using all its capacities to create a movement in country's ICT industry," he said.
"The Ministry of ICT has the communication infrastructure and in the current Iranian year (started March 21,2021) should assign major part of its purchases to knowledge-based companies, to support domestic production," he said.
"The MCI supports newcomers that seek to manufacture their basic products," he said, adding that another way is to support capacities of hubs in provinces and make investments.
