Iran talks latest situation with loading/unloading at Imam Khomeini Port

The Director General of Ports and Maritime Organization of Khuzestan Province Adel Deris has spoken about the latest situation regarding unloading and loading of basic goods in Imam Khomeini Port, Trend reports via Tasnim News Agency.

"The total unloading and loading operations since the beginning of the current Iranian year (started on March 21) until June 6 in the port, stood at 9.66 million tons, which means a 12-percent increase, compared to the same period last year,” Deris said.

“Out of 3.44 million tons of basic goods in the port, 2.7 million tons have been cleared,” he said.

Referring to the type of basic commodities in Imam Khomeini port, the official mentioned 122,000 tons of wheat, 1.6 million tons of corn, 310,000 tons of barley, 550,000 tons of oilseeds, 105,000 tons of sugar, 7,000 tons of rice and 156,000 tons of edible oil.

Deris went on to add that most of the basic goods come into Iran through the Imam Khomeini Port.
