BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 17. Some reports about an agreement on nuclear matters with Iran are simply not accurate and not true, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said at a briefing, Trend reports.

"We are determined to ensure that Iran never acquires a nuclear weapon. We remain convinced that the best way to do that is through diplomacy. We haven’t taken any option off the table. You’ve heard that clearly from the President [Biden]. But we continue to believe that diplomacy would be the most effective path forward, but there is no agreement, and reports to the contrary or simply inaccurate," he said.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that the US and Iran have recently been conducting indirect talks mediated by countries such as Oman over the JCPOA.

After the US withdrew from the JCPOA in 2018, the Iranian side repeatedly stated that no discussions had been held with the US and would not be held unless the US returned to the plan.
