Tehran, Iran, Dec. 22

By Milad Fashtami - Trend:

Iran's Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said that "Zionist regime" and other certain regional Arab countries financially support the militant groups in the Middle East, the Islamic Republic's state IRINN TV reported Dec. 22.

"Using militant groups for resolving regional problems is an incorrect approach," he said.

"Certain countries are fueling terrorism fire, but they will be burned by the very same fire in the future," Larijani added.

He made the remarks upon arriving in Lebanon.

Larijani is currently in Lebanon's capital Beirut for the second leg of his regional tour.

The official held a meeting with the Secretary General of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement Ramezan Abdullah in Beirut earlier today.

Larijani previously visited Syria. During his stay in Damascus, the Iranian official held separate meetings with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and Parliament Speaker Mohammed Jihad Al-Laham.

He also plans to visit Iraq.

Regional security and terrorism are at the top of Larijani's agenda in the tour.
