By Khalid Kazimov - Trend:

Iran's Deputy Interior Minister in Security Affairs Hossein Zolfaqari said that during the current Iranian calendar year (since March 21, 2014) Iran's security forces carried out 10 operations against terrorist groups.

"This year the IS (Islamic State) terrorist group attempted anti-security measures against our country, which were foiled thanks to our security forces' intelligence dominance. Several terrorist groups were disbanded and their members killed," he said, IRIB news agency reported March 8.

He noted that by carrying out terrorist attacks in border areas and to a lesser degree in central Iran, the groups attempted to wage a psychological war on the country.

On Feb. 17, Saravan representative to the parliament Hedayatollah Mirmorad Zehi said that 200 kilograms of explosives had been found in his area of representation which belonged to groups opposed to the Islamic Republic.

Elsewhere, Iran's Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alavi said on Feb. 19 that the amount of the explosives found was 350 kilograms. He added that a number of hideouts of the anti-Iranian members were found and three members taken in custody.
