By Khalid Kazimov – Trend:

A senior commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says the US has targeted and demolished a weapons factory in Syria.

The commander the IRGC’s aerospace force, Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, has said that the demolished factory was earlier built by Iran in Syria’s Aleppo for making “surface to surface” missiles, ISNA news agency reported.

He further accused the US of taking measures aimed at eliminating “the armies of Islamic countries”.

Hajizadeh did not provide further details on the “US strikes” on Syrian army’s facilities.

Earlier last week, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Baqeri spoke about a missile factory that was created by Iranians in the Syrian city of Aleppo.

The US officials, so far, have not reacted to the accusations of the Iranian side.
