Iran says it has imposed retaliatory sanctions on 15 American companies because of their “support of terrorism” two days after Washington introduced fresh bans on 30 foreign companies and individuals for aiding Tehran.
Iranian Foreign Ministry in a statement on March 26 announced that Tehran has slapped the sanction on the US companies over their ties with Israel, domestic media sources reported.
The announcement accuses the sanctioned companies of participating in “repressing people of the region” and contributing to the expansion of Israeli settlements in Palestinian territories.
The ministry further described Washington’s recent bans as a violation of the 2015 nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
