TEHRAN, Iran, June. 28

The head of the Iran-Afghanistan Joint Chamber of Commerce said in the case of continued unrest in Afghanistan, exports to this country will be affected.
Referring to the impact of the Taliban`s movement over the past couple of weeks which have led to the capture of seven districts in Baghlan, on the trade relations between Iran and Afghanistan, Hossein Salimi says that any kind of insecurity and political crisis makes it impossible to pursue the business process, Trend reports citing ILNA.
Referring to the recent meeting between US President Joe Biden and his Afghan counterpart Ashraf Ghani in the United States, he says that the US promised to bring Afghanistan back to peace.
“Therefore, the situation in Afghanistan is likely to calm down, but if the unrest will continue, exports to this country will be affected,” he said.
The head of the Iran-Afghanistan Joint Chamber of Commerce stated that during the political crisis, all business processes become insecure.
"Iraq or Syria`s developments showed that in such a situation, trade is difficult, for example, their storage system was destroyed,” he said. “If insecurity in Afghanistan reaches a certain level, these dangers will definitely arise.”
He went on to say that if the insecurity continues, Afghan investors will transfer their capital to Iran.
