The body count from Iran's yesterday road accident in country's Khuzestan province has risen to 17, ISNA reported.

Yesterday an accident occured on the Isfanan-Ahvaz road, when a bus full of people collided with a truck.

Twelve people yesterday were reportedly burned alive as a result of fire in the crashed bus. According to the latest reports, the total amount of dead is now 17.

Earlier yesterday, another road accident occured in Iran, this time on the Karaj - Gazvin highway. As a result of the bus-trailer collision, 14 people died, and 31 more were injured.

According to AFP, the death rate as a result of road accidents is one of the highest in the world. Annually, about 20,000 people are killed.
