(ArmInfo) - The Russian gas supply to Armenia was stopped Dec 17 evening because of pipeline failure in Georgia, reports ArmRosgazprom.

Georgian specialists have ensured gas supply via a reserve pipe - 50,000 c m an hour (1.2 mln c m a day). The lacking gas is supplied from the Abovyan Underground Gas Storage. In the winter Armenia consumes up to 10 mln c m a day, reports Trend.

The source says that the gas consumption regime will not be changed. By this evening the gas supply will be resumed.
